Plant for Me" is an application aimed at simplifying the complexities of home plant care. Recognizing the widespread challenges of nurturing various plant species, I embarked on a project to make plant parenting effortless and manageable.

The project aims to support individuals and families who are new to planting, struggling with planting, and managing multiple plants to have clear guidance and assistance to take care of their plants.

UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM
I am eager to find out the fundamental reasons behind the challenge. Through 1:1 interviews with houseplant owners, I observed several issues people commonly face in their planting hood:

Unsuitable environment
The natural environment of the accommodation is not suitable for the plants.

Lifestyle conflict
Some plants demand extra care during nurturing, which may be challenging for some individuals to manage with.

Watering schedule confusion
People face difficulty in memorizing watering schedules for each plant.
This is how I brainstorm: I analyze the findings from 1:1 interviews, and clustering related stories. I aim to uncover various opportunities and brainstorm numerous solutions. Then, I narrow down my focus to decide on the area I want to prioritize.

How do we help people find plants that suit their lives and take care of them effortlessly?
01 Finding your ideal plant
Problem
People don’t know what kind of plant to choose that could fit with their needs and lifestyle. If the plant doesn’t fit the owner’s lifestyle, it would be hard to take care of it. Eventually, the plant is going to die.
Solution
Before getting the plant, the owner could understand what kind of plant they need first, which will help them have a smoother long-term path. The product should help everyone find their ideal plant that fits with the environment they live in, the lifestyle they have, and their preferences for the plant they like.
02 Make Watering Easy
Problem
Keeping track of individualized watering schedules for multiple plants can be challenging for many people. It's difficult to remember the unique watering needs and routine of each different plant. People do not water properly and lead their plants to death.
Solution
People should not memorize all of the watering schedules in their brains. The product should help people easily manage their watering schedule, especially people who get multiple pots of plants.

User can name their plant and track each plant individually.
Calendar and notification
Customize the watering schedule to help the owner be organized and plan ahead.
Customize Recommandation
I design questionnaires to understand users' planting levels, environmental conditions, and travel frequency, etc. to enable the database to filter out the plants that suit the owner's lifestyle.
Sensing your plant's condition.
Users could add moisturized senor into the pot to track their plant's moisture condition in real time.
